Can you guess where this picture was taken?
My very talented wife (who blogs at My Kid Circus, though not as much about her photography as I’d like – hint hint, nudge nudge), took this picture on a trip we were on recently and I absolutely love it. I now have it framed at my desk at work.
Can anyone guess where she took this?
I spy a Tennessee Tag
Nice sleuthing, but you have to be more specific plus, cars can drive anywhere ;)
NOLA? Something about those street lights…
Going off of the Tenessee tag theory, closer examination shows the county name to be fairly short, since it’s covered up by the trailer hitch. I know Nashville is Davidson County, which is a longer word that wouldn’t be as easily covered by a hitch.
I’m making an assumption that this is a larger metro area. If it is indeed in Tennessee, another large metro area is Memphis. Memphis is in Shelby County (don’t ask me how I know that) and Shelby is a small enough word to be covered up by a hitch.
Knoxville is also a metro area in Knox county, another short word for the county. Even shorter than Shelby.
So is it Knoxville?
I feel slightly creepy now that I’ve put that much thought into it. Still a cool picture though.
Memphis?
Gonna guess London. How a Tennessee tagged car got there is between them and their shipping company.
Crap. Just saw the tweet that it wasn’t London.
My guess is Chicago.
New York. Same alley they filmed Dylan’s “Subterranean Homesick Blues” video. 2nd guess, L.A. I can see Starsky and Hutch’s sweet Gran Torino screeching around the corner and flying thru this alley. The El Camino parked here already is a nice touch. Excellent composition.
Correction: Dylan’s video was shot in London and London has been ruled out. I’m going with my 2nd guess, Wink.
Going with Pittsburgh, however not sure if your wife has been here? The building in the back has the same design as the old Alcoa building here in town, and that could be any number of Pittsburgh Alleyways.
Thanks for playing the “guess where this picture was taken” game. The answer…Knoxville, TN! Congrats to @drewhawkins for figuring that out. If you missed it, check out how crazy analytical he was to figure it out!
