48in48 Atlanta 2016 in photos

WOW. Just, wow. We did it again! We built 48 nonprofit websites in 48 hours! And dozens of logos, tons of social content, 48 email templates, SEO services, and much more, all in the span of 48 hours at General Assembly’s office in Ponce City Market. Over 200 volunteers came and donated their time to make this happen, and when we ran the numbers, we provided over $1.5 million in services for Atlanta’s nonprofits!!!

Here is snapshot of the event in photos (and one video):

pcm
Ponce City Market, not sure there is a better place in Atlanta to host an event like this…

badge
We had pins for all of the volunteers, both for this year and a 2015 one if they helped last year. It was fun seeing all the returning volunteers!

sponsorboard
48in48’s fearless leader, Carole Williams, made sure our sponsors got a ton of recognition.

signage
The signage this year was light years better than last year. A sure sign (#pun-intended) that we are getting our act together.

crookedwits
Crooked Wits played for the opening session, and they were AMAZING! Please book them for events, they’re incredible.

bazegaze
Atlanta Hawks small forward Kent Bazemore came and gave an inspirational talk to the 200+ volunteers. Afterwards Adam, Carole, and I did a #bazegaze with him. AND he capture this, what I think has to be the world-record for highest number of BazeGazers ever!

arbys
Thanks to Refuge for their coffee and espressos all weekend, to Coca-Cola for drinks throughout, and to all of our meal sponsors, including Arby’s and Chick-fil-A, for helping us keep the volunteers caffeinated, hydrated, fed, and…caffeinated again :)

adamsilly
Sometimes we got goofy. This is Adam starting to lose his mind…

working1
And oh yeah, the work! While most of these photos are the “fun” of the event, the amount of time our volunteers spent working was insane. Walking around the space at 2am and seeing so many people still cranking away was one of the most inspiring things I’ve ever seen.

restingroom
When they did take a rest, we had this rest area set up for them with Delta comfort bags (bottom right of the photo.) This is where I “slept” both nights. And thanks to Dagger, we had a few Yogabeds!

judges
Our incredible judges, Tad Hutcheson (our Delta sponsor), Ann Cramer, and Ken Bernhardt, worked hard to pick out the winning websites.

judgesshirts
After the award ceremony, the judges were presented with 48in48 t-shirts with the signatures of the participating nonprofits.

toast
And yes, we were exhausted after the event. And in two weeks, we’ll do it all again in New York!!!
