Headed to the Art of Marketing conference in Toronto…
Today I’m in Toronto to catch the one-day Art of Marketing conference. Here’s a video about the conference:
So why am I so geeked up about this particular trip?
First, I tried to go last year. Got to the airport, tickets paid, hotel booked, and realized…my passport had expired. That was both embarrassing and disappointing. I’m here to redeem myself :)
It’s in Toronto and I’ve never been. I hear its an amazing place.
The speakers are phenomenal. And Guy Kawasaki will be there, so that’s a huge plus for me (here’s a pic of me and Guy).
I’ll be going with @interpolate and that’s always a bonus.
The networking at this should be great. From what I’ve heard its a great group of people that attend this conference.
With the amount of work I’ve been buried in for the past several weeks, I’m looking forward to a day of sitting back and learning. Digesting new information, forming new thoughts. It’s amazing but sometimes just being away for a day or two from the “day job” can refuel your mind and get you thinking in entirely new ways. And since I love the day job, its easy for me to be heads down for a long time, look up and realize that things have passed me by. So trips like this are necessary for me to keep thinking about what could be.

Neat event…I selfishly like how they created a digital out-of-home ad blast from 0:05 to 0:15 of the video. Super cool city, literally & figuratively. Hoping to go myself in a couple of weeks!
