This week I visited Year Up, an incredible nonprofit

There are so many great nonprofits in Atlanta serving people that truly need help. I’ve had the opportunity to get to know a small group of them intimately by sitting on boards and helping with campaigns, while at the same time exposing my network to a larger group of them via MATCH Atlanta and Advice For Good.

This week I was able to hang out with Year Up. Year Up empowers low-income young adults to go from poverty to professional careers in a single year. And I was able to see them in action first-hand on Monday when I visited. They have classes of 40+ young adults that they take through a six-month process to get them ready for a professional career, and in most every case, they then place them in a paid internship for six months after their graduation from the program. And a high percentage of those folks end up getting full time jobs afterwards.

If you feel inspired, you can either donate a few bucks to help them out or sign up to volunteer.
