Progress on my goal of reading a book a week, and what books are next

On January 1st I shared that one of my goals in 2018 would be to read a book a week (52 in total.) I read 33, 36, and 40 books over the last three years, respectively, and I thought 52 would be a good goal for this year.

Part of the reason I set this goal was to learn more, because at this point I mostly learn – about life and business/leadership – through experience and reading. And I eagerly want to keep learning and improving, as I have a lot more that I want to accomplish :)

My secondary goal of reading this many books in a year was that I assumed I would be forced to stop doing some of the things that waste my time with no real benefit. And that has absolutely happened, mostly in the form of watching almost no TV anymore. Almost.

And so far, so good! I’ve read 25 books so far and its only May 31st, so I’m ahead of schedule. I expect I’ll be close to 30 books completed by mid-year.

Below is a shelf of books that I can’t wait to read. There’s another shelf right below that one with 20 more books, but these 20 are the ones I’m most eager to get to. That said, only about 1/3 of the books I read are actual, physical books. Another 1/3 are Kindle, and the rest I listen to on Audible. So I almost definitely won’t finish all of these before 2019. And yes, there are two more RFK books in there. #guilty

As always, I love recommendations, so please share!
