Dragon Army turns 40!

That’s right, Dragon Army recently turned 40! Wait, you’re not thinking I mean years, are you? No, we’re just over four years old. I’m talking about people!

Actually, we’re 43 people today (37 full time and 6 “full time” contractors.)

To put that in perspective, this time last year we were 13. 13!

Those 43 people are made up of the following roles:

  • Developers: 20
  • UX and Creative: 6
  • Admin/HR/Finance (includes me): 5
  • Project Management: 4
  • Account Management: 4
  • Quality Assurance: 3
  • Marketing: 1

We’ve hit a growth spurt in a way that’s faster than anything I’ve grown before. Spunlogic doubled for five years before we sold, but we never had a year like this where we MORE THAN TRIPLED.

We started Dragon Army in August of 2013 as a mobile app and game studio, mostly making games – our own games, no clients. Then January 2015 we started a mobile development side of Dragon Army (the “agency” side of the company,) focusing at that time mainly on building mobile apps for startups.

Then two years ago, January 2016, we made our second pivot. We decided to change the company from a mobile development shop working with startups, to a mobile and innovation agency working with Fortune 1000 clients. At that time, we dropped in staff down to 7.

And then we got to work.

Two years in to that new vision for the company, and we’re up to 43. We’re also (slowly) starting back up the studio side of the business, where we’ll begin to work on games again.

Here’s hoping for continued growth for us, and for you.
