Dragon Army and the power of clarity

This week I’ve shared a post about Dragon Army each day, and for the last post I thought I’d talk about what I call the power of clarity.

Businesses often struggle to achieve clarity. Clarity in who they are, what they’re doing, and how they’re going to get there. I’ve certainly struggled with that at both Spunlogic and Engauge. In both cases, we never clearly and purposefully defined the who, the what, and the how.

In late 2014, Dragon Army, then being a mobile game studio, pivoted to being a mobile experience company. In effect, that meant adding a mobile agency side that would build experiences for customers. And over the last year I’ve worked hard to solidify the who, the what, and the how of our business.

Rather than rehash those, you can check them out in this week’s previous posts: The who, the what, and the how.

Having those aspects of our business clearly defined gives us a great advantage. Things we can do better because of this:

We can hire the right type of people.

We can choose the right type of clients.

We can take the right type of risks.

We can better navigate difficult situations.

We can build a culture based on truths vs. gut feeling.

We can be a better partner for our clients, and build better products for our customers.

Starting a business is hard. Why make it harder by not taking advantage of the power of clarity?
