I charge everything at night

I was thinking about this the other day, but I seem to charge everything that needs charging at night.

My laptop – I have a Macbook (not a Pro, not an Air, just…Macbook) and the battery lasts me all day. If I charge it at night, I never have to plug it in during the day while I use it.

My iPhone – I have the iPhone 6+, and the battery is ridiculous. Every night I set the alarm on it and plug it in next to my bed. The next day, it lasts the entire day with no need to plug it in. I usually get home with at least 20% battery life remaining.

My car – I have a Nissan Leaf (got it before the tax credits ended, thankfully) and if you aren’t familiar, its an electric car, so when you run out of battery your car stops working. So I plug it in every night and the next day I can go 80+ miles before it runs out again.

Apple Watch – Well, technically I don’t have my own Apple Watch, Dragon Army has one and I use it from time to time. Many of my friends love theirs (the reasons why) but so far I’m on the fence. Anyway, when I do use it, I simply set it on the charger at night and in the morning it has a full battery. I’ve never had it get below 40% battery if I had it fully charged from the night before.

I like the freedom of having these “things” throughout the day without needing to worry about them running out of battery life. I’d use the smaller iPhone 6 if it had as good a battery as the 6+, and I’d use a larger screen Macbook if it existed (or a larger screen Air if it had a Retina display), but for now the current Macbook is the only slim, Retina-screened Mac that has freakish battery life.

When did battery life become so important?!

I’ve never turned on a device and thought “Well crap. This device just has too much power remaining!”
