I’m going to test out the Evernote Food app
I wrote in December about my concern over where Evernote was heading with its two new apps: Food and Hello. I felt like they were getting too distracted and needed to focus on their core app. I still feel that way.
But I realized this weekend that I never gave either of those apps a fair shake.
See, I’m a HUGE Evernote fan. And I owe it to them to at least give Evernote Food (and maybe later, Hell0, though that one I really, really don’t get) a try.
I find that if I don’t give something at least a solid week of trial, usually two weeks, then I’m not really giving it a shot. That’s how I originally started using Twitter. It’s also what I did with the Windows 7 Phone (which I liked but went back to the iPhone). And its why I have a second screen strategy with my apps.
So for the next week I’m going to capture everything I eat and drink on Evernote Food. I just can’t see that being something I enjoy or find useful, but I’ve been wrong before.
What’s the status on this? What’d you think?
Re: Evernote Food, I did try it for a week and, well, I didn’t like it. I couldn’t see the point and it was a hassle to do every time I ate.
I think I (and my guess is most people) just don’t care too much to be able to specifically recall what I ate at a random day in the past. I can’t see why I’d need that info or what to do with it.
