Blogging on the iPad sucks less with Blogsy
Finally, blogging is…bearable on the iPad. I wrote post a while back about how miserable the WordPress app was on the iPad. I wrote that back in February. It’s October. Good to see WordPress jumped all over that one.
Unfortunately blogging with the WordPress app is still rather disappointing even with their latest update. I spent a while writing a post only to have the app sync and wipe out everything but the first sentence. That’s the kind of #FAIL that I can’t deal with.
So I’m writing this post on a new app for the iPad called Blogsy. It currently seems to support WordPress, Posterous and Blogger.
The main thing I like about it is that it was clearly made for the iPad, whereas the WordPress app was clearly made by a company that is annoyed to have to make an app specifically for this device.
The user interface is very slick and fairly intuitive. Adding photos and video is very simple, using drag and drop the way you’d expect a tablet app to. As an example, I took the below screenshot of the welcome screen and easily dragged it onto the post.
If you’re looking for an acceptable way to blog on the iPad, I suggest giving this app a try. It’s $4.99 but if you’re like me and haven’t yet been able to find a way to blog from the iPad, it will likely be worth it.
Sounds worth a look. I shall investigate!
