Why I’m reading these books

I posted a blog earlier this month about the books I’m currently reading, and someone pointed out that I should mention at least why I’m reading these. Below is a little blurb about why I have each of these books on my iPad. By the way, all the links below are Amazon affiliate Kindle links.

I love to hear what books people are reading so if you want, share those here as well!

Books I'm currently reading

The Fountainhead – Actually no idea why I downloaded this sample. Probably saw a review of it in a magazine and grabbed a sample. I do that A LOT. I haven’t started reading this one yet.

How To Be The Luckiest Person Alive! – I’ve been reading a ton of James Altucher lately. Too much in fact. But it was only $.99 and I sped through it.

What the Dog Saw: And Other Adventures – I’ll pretty much read anything Gladwell writes.

Rework – Always been a fan of the 37signals guys and wanted to know more.

Options : The Secret Life of Fake Steve Jobs – Big fan of the Fake Steve Jobs and this book is hilarious. Any fanboy like me should read it.

The Daily Drucker – One of the smartest “business people” I know said I should read this. It’s full of great, very short chapters.

Lucky Or Smart?: Fifty Pages for the First-Time Entrepreneur – Saw Bo speak at a conference once and always wanted to know his story.

The Dragonfly Effect: Quick, Effective, and Powerful Ways To Use Social Media to Drive Social Change – Heard many people recommend this book from a social media standpoint. Honestly I’ll probably never get to it even though I’m sure its a good read.

The Element: How Finding Your Passion Changes Everything – Saw Sir Ken Robinson speak at an event and he was better than every other speaker, even Godin. So I thought I might enjoy his book.

The Lincoln Lawyer: A Novel – Looked like a good movie and I like legal thrillers. Hoping to pick this up soon to read a non-business book, as my wife always suggests. But I doubt it will happen.

Ten Steps Ahead: What Separates Successful Business Visionaries from the Rest of Us – Sounded interesting after seeing a review in a magazine.

Onward – I actually just bought this last Friday and I’m 1/3 of the way through it. Never knew the Starbucks story. Very good read for entrepreneurs that have sold their business and then reengaged…like me :)

The Big Short: Inside the Doomsday MachineMoneyball is one of my favorite books so I thought I might also like this one by Michael Lewis. Here’s a list of my favorite books if you’re interested.

The Accidental Billionaires: The Founding of Facebook: A Tale of Sex, Money, Genius and Betrayal – I think I grabbed this sample after the Facebook movie came out. Looks pretty interesting.

Wicked: Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of th (Wicked Years) – I actually already deleted this book as several people told me it was nothing like the play.
