Good tip. Emily and I saw the show in London and loved it, and I’m not a musical kinda guy at all. Figured the book would be great but I’m not into depressing books!

Yikes. I think I’ve heard of Snow Crash, maybe I’ve even read it, but sadly no, the name didn’t ring a bell for me without Googling. I feel the need to be embarrassed somehow.
Read, in this order, Snow Crash and Diamond Age. Warning – you will suddenly realize that as forward-thinking as you are, you really aren’t. I am blown away by how much Neal got right.
Yes and no. Snow Crash is the book credited with creating the term “avatar” for a virtual reality world. But the guy you are thinking of is Philip K. Dick
The book is very political & dark. I’ve yet to hear anyone say they actually enjoyed it. The play is one of my favorites though. Can’t wait to see it when it comes back to @TheFoxTheatre:twitter in Sept! AND you can use the code GLINDA to get pre-sale (6/11) tickets right now for anyone that reads this and is interested:)
[…] posted a blog earlier this month about the books I’m currently reading, and someone pointed out that I should mention at least why I’m reading these. Below is a […]
Do you read books on your iPad?
I think a blurb similar to what you did with your iPad home screen about why you are reading each book or what you think of them would be helpful.
Don’t read Wicked if you’re expecting it to be like the show… That might be one of the most depressing books I’ve ever read.
Just finished Rework a few weeks ago – a lot of fluff but a few good nuggets. What the Dog Saw is coming up in my queue…
Yep, I’ll add a follow up on why I’m reading these books, good idea.

Where are the Neal Stephenson titles? (Please don’t tell me you haven’t heard of him…)

I think your head may explode.

Deal, I’ll do that. I thought he might be the guy that wrote the Second Life-type book on Electronic Sheep or something.

Ah, now you know my greatest weakness, my memory. I read Snow Crash, and loved it.
