Don’t tell Apple, but this is my new phone email signature

That’s right, if you get an email from me while I’m on my phone sometime in the next few weeks, the signature will look something like this:

Sent from my (GASP) Windows Phone. I know, right?

Yep, I’m testing out a Windows 7 phone.  I put my iPhone away and I’m going to attempt to not use it for at least two weeks.  In my world its important to test these different devices and operating systems.  It’s why I’ve been using the Galaxy Tab instead of the iPad (plus I am liking it better than the iPad).

This is the reason I switched to Google Voice recently, so I could port my number to whatever phone I was using at the time.

If anyone out there is using this phone, love to hear your feedback on it.  So far there are things I love (the way it pulls someone’s entire contact data from Facebook, Google and Outlook into their contact profile) and things I hate (no copy/paste, are you kidding me?).

What about applications? From everything I read there are not going to be any free applications. The HTC EVO also “pulls someone’s entire contact data from Facebook, Google and Outlook into their contact profile” . I miss the HTC EVO.

Re: applications on the Windows 7, there are free ones, the problem is there obviously aren’t nearly as many as on the iPhone. Even Android is limited in that way. But what I do like so far about the Windows 7 marketplace is that a lot of the paid apps have a “try” option, so you can try before you buy. I love that.

Not so. Here’s the top free apps at the moment for WP7: https://www.microsoft.com/windowsphone/en-us/apps/free-apps.aspx It’s been reported an update later this year is to import Twitter contacts into the People Hub on the phone as well.
