6 books I’m looking forward to reading
I’ve started reading actual physical books…like, not digital books…I know, its weird. I think its because I was given one as a gift, and I enjoyed the fact that it sat there looking at me until I finally picked it up and read it. I also, since turning 40 (I’m 41), have to wear reading glasses which I also enjoy…I know, even weirder.
Oh, and I get the newspaper now on Sunday… #soweird
Here are 6 books that I have on my desk that are going to stare at me until I read them.
- Coach by Michael Lewis
- Rabbit: The Autobiography of Ms. Pat by Patricia Williams
- 5 Voices by Kubicek Cockram
- Faithful Servant by James Philips (a book about my wife’s grandfather!)
- Burial for a King by Rebecca Burns
- Managing the Nonprofit Organization by Peter Drucker
If you’re interested in the other books I’ve read this year (27 so far) and their corresponding rankings (my very fancy 5-star system), you check them out here.
What are you reading?
I have a weird tendency to read a couple of books at once. Right now, reading “How to Lead When You’re Not In Charge” and picking up the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy for when I want to read but not totally engage my brain.
I’ve heard great things about that leadership book. And I’m reading Hitchhikers to my 12 year old!
So much weirdness, but glad to know I’m not the only one! But I have to know which newspaper you’re getting on Sunday…because I haven’t gotten that weird yet! As for books I’ve got 3 in progress: “Never Split The Difference” – a book on negotiation I’m listening to on Audible while commuting. “Running Man” – listening to while running. “11/22/63” on Kindle which a co-worker recommend and I’m taking to the beach. And yes….clearly I’ve been ripping off both your approach to reading and some of the books you’ve read (thanks for posting them).
I’m getting the AJC. My big problem seems to be keeping up with local news. For whatever reason, my “sources” – Flipboard, Google News, Twitter – haven’t helped me stay up to date on our community, so I figured that the Sunday AJC will be my best bet for that. We’ll see how it goes.
Great book list, I’ve read Running Man and 11/22/63, but will check out Never Split the Difference. Is it a good audio book, like is the person reading it doing a great job?
