Here’s an awesome, heart warming initiative #reimagineatl

One thing I’ve learned over the past several years as I’ve spent more time studying and supporting non-profits, is that awareness of an issue is a huge barrier. The more people are exposed to things, the more they understand the problems in the world and feel compelled to help. I went through an intense, eye-opening experience in 2012 when I went through Leadership Atlanta and it changed my life.

So when I first talked to Susanna about her non-profit, re:imagine, I immediately wanted to help because it addresses the problem of cause awareness in such a creative way. According to the website:

re:imagine/ATL is an innovative and relationally-driven organization that empowers youth from all backgrounds to reimagine a flourishing Atlanta through creative technologies, collaboration and sustainable, holistic programs. re:imagine uses a project-based educational approach that combines film and music, storytelling, and entrepreneurship as a means of activating youth to positively impact their community. We believe that under this creative vision the next generation can come together to form a single vibrant voice that will change the world.

Essentially, her group helps kids tell stories via film and music about causes that they believe the world needs to help support. Not only do the kids help those less fortunate than themselves, they also learn valuable skills that can help them with their careers down the road.

I hope that you will join me in pledging some money to help their current cause focused on Sierra Leone, Africa. If there was ever a place that needed people to help, Sierra Leone is it. Watch this video that the re:imagine kids created to support the cause!
