There’s really no way around it, Elon Musk is a badass. Sure, he’s done amazing things in his past, but its the way he dreams big that really impresses me.
In this VentureBeat article, he paints a vision for the future as he sees it.
On how he got his start:
“When I was in college I wanted to be involved in things that would change the world,” Musk said early on in his talk. There were three things that he was interested in: the Internet, sustainable energy, and space exploration with the goal of making life multiplanetary.
On why we need to colonize Mars:
“The future of humanity is going to bifurcate in two directions: Either it’s going to become multiplanetary, or it’s going to remain confined to one planet and eventually there’s going to be an extinction event,” Musk said.
On a possible warp drive:
“It is theoretically possible to warp spacetime itself, so you’re not actually moving faster than the speed of light, but it’s actually space that’s moving,” he said.
But, he acknowledged, ”A warp drive may or may not come to fruition.”
