Asking a favor of my friends, let’s use social to help a family

One of the amazing benefits of social media is that you can help people and causes in ways you never could before.  For example, I recently learned about DonorsChoose.org, which allows people to sponsor a school project via digital/social.  They do some really innovative things via social to spread the word virally.  And I’ve talked before about great services like Twitpay that have done some great twitter-based social cause campaigns.

Today I’m asking you to help out an Engauger and his family.  @thorinhanson is on the Technology Team at Engauge.  Thorin has a seven-year old daughter, Hadley, who is blind.  She has the opportunity to receive an Intel Reader, if she can get enough votes from us.

Please go to the Intel-GE Care Innovations Facebook page and vote for Hadley to receive the Intel Reader every day until the 25th of May. You’ll have to accept the app via Facebook to vote.  That’s only about 15 seconds a day for about 10 days.  You can do it.  It will make a huge impact in this little girl’s life.

AND, I know I’m getting greedy, but you can also help by spreading the word.  RT the link, post it on Facebook, blog about it, or do what you can to help make this happen for Hadley and her family. Thanks!

Done deal!  I don’t like Thorin, but his daughter is awesome!  ;-)
