I write in the mornings

I never thought about it until I read this post, but I write blogs almost always in the morning, early.  I’ve always been an early riser, that’s not news to anyone that knows me, but its interesting to see others talk about doing their writing in the mornings before the day gets started.

In fact, I’d bet that easily 25% of all the blogs I write are done on Saturday and Sunday morning.  Before the kids get up, that first cup of coffee.  I usually hit Google Reader for a solid half hour and by that point I usually have 3 or 4 blogs that have been percolating throughout the week.

Here’s a quote from Hemingway mentioned in the article:

When I am working on a book or story I write every morning as soon after first light as possible. There is no one to disturb you and it is cool or cold and you come to your work and warm as you write… You write until you come to a place where you still have your juice and you know what will happen next and you stop and try to live through until the next day when you hit it again.
