So Joe and I go to NY…

Joe (@gumboshowjoe) and I went to NY.  We stayed at the New Yorker hotel.  Nice place and I would totally stay there again.

As I was sitting in my room thinking how small tiny minuscule quaint it was, Joe called me and asked if I wanted to come to his room and “work” there.  I think my first comment was, “well that’s awkward, Joe” and my second was, “what are we going to do, sit on the bed together and work?”  My room didn’t have space for two dudes to “work” together, at least not the type of work I needed to do.

But he convinced me to go up (yes, up) and see his room.  This is what I found:

Here is Joe pointing at where his room is located on a picture of the hotel.  His balcony stretches across the entire width of the building.

I’ve stayed at the New Yorker and had a similar experience. It is truly an awesome place. I think I was speaking or on a panel or something while I was there, so I also had the bonus that the room was free. :-)

Wow…Jeff what can I say, I know how to book travel!
Glad I could help you get such an extravagant suite, while Joe had to deal with that messily box The New Yorker calls a room ;)

Jeff would be interested to see what the effects of your post are to the bookings of the respective rooms. I know the next time I go to NY, i’ll be sure not to stay in the room you had. Could be an interesting app…Where not to stay.

My favorite part is your closing line about Joe promising “special favors” to the person at the front desk. Well played!

    That’s just how I roll!

BTW @Darren I dropped off an envelope for Mohamed at the front desk this morning when I checked out…

Jeff-maybe Joe brought home bedbugs. They probably prefer the nice suites. Even a bedbug wouldn’t be caught in that little thing you called a room.

Oh, you better believe Emily sat me down and gave me a big lecture before I left about not bringing home any bed bugs. I assured her that if that were to happen, you’d be on 85 coming to our rescue immediately.
