What’s your must read blog?

by jeffhilimire on May 5, 2010

Today I get the great fortune of meeting the person who writes the blog that I read religiously (avc.com).

And it got me thinking, I’d love to know which blogs others consider their “must read”. Or maybe you’ve seen a list like that before that you can put in the comments here to share with the rest of us.

My must read is Social Media Today (http://www.socialmediatoday.com) I used to have a whole list of blogs I would check in Google Reader, but now I rely on Social Media Today to aggregate all the best posts out there. It also introduces me to new bloggers that I can follow on Twitter for more updates in the future.

I ready Jeremiah Owyang's Web Strategy blog (http://www.web-strategist.com/blog/) pretty regularly. I enjoy his insight on social media – and Social Customer Relationship Marketing in particular – helpful and informative. He and his partners at Altimeter are espousing “openness” in research/insights/etc. and I find that approach as refreshing as his views on the industry.

I'm definitely guilty of browsing for good headlines, but I'm a big fan of…

    Mashable/TechCrunch/MobileCrunch
    - For breaking tech, mobile and social media news.

    PR Daily News Feed (http://www.prdaily.com)
    - Excellent headlines, I read/RT more articles from there than any other blog – although this is more of a mashup of major headlines with some original content from MyRagan.

    SmartBrief (http://www.smartbrief.com)
    - Favorite place for industry news – also like check out Mediabistro for that too.

    Marketing Charts (http://www.marketingcharts.com/)
    - Always shares great research/studies – doesn't always have the best headlines. NielsenWire is usually good too – but doesn't have as much content.

I also try to regularly check some of the unofficial/official blogs at Hootsuite, Twitter, Facebook, Google and WordPress.

AVC is probably my most consistent read. Fred knows the social media & entrepreneurship realm very well…just look at his portoflio if you had any doubts!

in the digital music space, i wake up every day to catch myself up on the latest news via http://hypebot.com & http://digitalmusicnews.com …bob lefsetz (lefsetz letter) is also the most entertaining music critic around (try to get to his pieces as much as i can)

Seth Godin & Mark Cuban are two great guys that I follow as well.

lastly, i think atlanta's own @david_cummings has a great blog that will only to continue to grow from here
