Amazon mobile has NO IDEA

I’ve been an advocate of the Amazon mobile app for a while (iTunes link). It has a pretty seamless integration with your Amazon.com account, allowing you to buy stuff, leave it in your cart and add to your wishlists. Works like a charm.

One of the best features however is their “Remembers” option which has an unfortunate name but is still a handy little feature. Basically you can take a picture of anything (and I mean anything, I once tested this by taking a picture of some bleachers), and pretty soon after you will receive a notice from Amazon that they have “found” your item. They’ll send you back details about what you captured and of course a way to buy it on amazon.com if its available.

I took a picture of a little iHome-type stereo device that I can dock my iPhone into, hoping to find out how to buy another one. Instead, it appears in this rare instance Amazon couldn’t find my item so their tech put in “No idea”.

What’s funny is, it then has a link to some song called, “No Idea” by someone named, “Algebra Blessett”. Although I’m not a big fan of this expression, the only thing that comes to mind is #FAIL.

It should have said “take a better picture”. :)

Then I would have probably gotten a link to some book, “How to take better pictures”…which I guess would have been funnier.
